Pooh Angel card

I am sharing with you today a special card I made for a very dear friend. In July of last year my friend announced that she was pregnant with her 3rd child.  I was so excited for her to be pregnant. I wanted to help in any way, so I had asked if she had any ideas of what theme, if any, she was thinking of for the baby. She was going to go with a Pooh theme. Her other children were associated with Piglet and Tigger so Pooh was next. We were sharing pictures back and forth of Pooh bedding...then she chose one and bought it. Then just days after her 10 week check up she sadly miscarried the baby. She has since been dealing with the loss of what she thought was a baby girl.

Since I too know what it is like to loss a baby, one due to a complete placental abruption and another baby to a miscarriage...I also know what it is like when birthdays, due dates, holidays, anniversaries and any other special day associated to that child comes around. As a bereaved parent you don't want others to forget about your baby. So I am taking this opportunity to let me dear friend know that on her baby's due date I am thinking of her.

Here you can see I also made an envelop for the card...both of which are 4 1/4 inches square.

This image of Pooh sleeping on a cloud shows the embossing and stickles I added to the clouds and wings.

The next 2 images show the dimension I added with some foam squares.

I am so pleased with the way this very special card turned out and I know my friend will love it.

I used these items to create my Pooh Angel card:
  • ZooBalloo Cricut cartridge - the card, the envelop and the 2 clouds
  • Pooh Font Cricut cartridge - Pooh
  • Pink Journey Cricut cartridge (1st time I used this cartridge) - the 2 wings
  • My Craft Spot clear stamps - Jar Full of Flowers - "thinking of you"
  • Silver pen - faux stitching around card
  • Stickle - the clouds, and wings
I am entering my Pooh Angel card in the following challenges:
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my Pooh Angel card. And remember, if you know someone who has had a miscarriage or lost a child please take the time out to remember that child...it really does mean a lot.

A Little Something Personal About ME!

Today I'm going to share with you little something personal about myself...I have 4 children; 2 who walk along side me and 2 who soar above me.   The month of October everyone seems to be very focused on Breast Cancer Awareness but for me it is about October 15th - Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

January 9, 2005 my entire world shattered!  I was 29 weeks and 6 days pregnant with my son Aiden and something went wrong.  I had a complete placental abruption without the usual symptoms and my son Aiden was stillborn.  Through a support group called Compassionate Friends we found The Miss Foundation.  My husband and I attended a support group through them for several years.  We still attend and participate in annual events and fundraisers.

The 1st year of grief was the hardest and then I also had it compounded by a second loss.  I was fortuate to get pregnant again 9 months after lossing Aiden.  Then after 8 weeks I began to miscarry.  I miscarried naturally after a couple days after it had started.  I named that baby Kiran.

I carry the grief of lossing Aiden and Kiran with me every day.    I don't know what I would have done without the support of The Miss Foundation.  Some days are better than others and then some days like Saturday have been weighing heavy on my heart all week.

If you are interested in learning more about my angels Aiden and Kiran, and about their stories please visit Aiden's Website **** WARNING **** THIS IS A VERY SENSITIVE MATTER AND THERE ARE PICTURES POSTED THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR ALL VIEWERS ****
Thank you in advance if you have taken the time to read a little bit about me and if you do visit Aiden's website!
