Swimfan (NOT) layout

I can't believe it I must be on a creative roll these last couple of weeks. This is my 2nd scrapbook layout this week, plus I made an ATC, birthday card and gift tag within the last 14 days. This layout is actually my 1st scrapbook layout specifically for my youngest daughter. The title "Swimfan NOT" is borrowed from the movie titled "Swimfan." The reason for this title is because this was my youngest daughter's 1st swimming experience and that look on her face never changed. She didn't seem to like it or dislike it. We all just laughed at her and she continued to be expressionless.

Here are a couple close ups:

I used these items to create this layout (all of which was in my stash):
  • wave pattern paper
  • Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page - Deco Fan
  • white, blue and orange cardstock
  • Sesame Street Seasons Cricut cartridge - beach ball
  • Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge - scallop circle cut for small photo
  • ZooBalloo Cricut cartridge - waves
  • white plastic flowers - I have had for who knows how long
  • blue felt flowers - and again I have had for who knows how long
  • orange and blue brads
  • foam squares
  • BasicGrey Oh Baby Girl scrapbook kit - "Swimfan" - and again I have had for who knows how long

C is for Cat layout

This layout has been years in the making. Does anyone remember when we had Recollections stores? Well I do and I loved the one I had. Gosh, I guess it's been about 6 or 7 years now that they have been closed. Well while they were still open I bought this great Cat scrapbook kit from Karen Foster Design and just now dug it out and used some of it.

The photo is of my cat Cleo. I got Cleo from the Cable Guy when he came over to install the cable in my house in May, 1995. Cleo was the cutest little kitten and grew up to be a very beautiful cat. I brought him across the country with me when I moved from New Jersey to Arizona in 1997. He spent most days in the house sleeping but occasionally he would sneak out the backdoor and walk the perimeter of the yard. Cleo died peacefully in his sleep January 14, 2011. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him.

I used these items to create my C is for Cat layout:

  • Cat scrapbook kit from Karen Foster Design
  • tan and brown cardstock
  • Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge - C and is for Cat
  • brads
  • brown glitter glue

Wedding Tag

I don't normally do tags, I don't know why but I had a reason this time...my niece is getting married next year. Based on what I have seen her Pin on Pinterest, I believe her colors include a lavender purple. So when making this tag I new I would include lavender. Plus, there are several challenges this week that this tag will fit into.

I used these items to create my Wedding Tag:
  • George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge - tag cut at 5 + the shadow in balck
  • Sweethearts Cricut cartridge - hearts cut at 1 3/4 + the shadow in black
  • Paper Dolls Dress Up Cricut cartridge - bow tie cut at 7
  • Lavender, black and white cardstock
  • ribbon
  • 3 Stampin' Up Rhinestones
  • 2 black brads
  • D'vine Swirls and Swiss Dots embossing folders
  • Inkadinkado Clear Stamp FRIENDLY ADVICE Kid Quotes - on the back of the tag
  • 1 small bell

Tulip Happy Birthday Pop Up Box Card

This past Sunday was my Mom's birthday and I made this Tulip Happy Birthday Pop Up Box Card for her. I had to get my creative thinking on to make this card.  I knew right away I wanted to have tulips because they are one of my mom's favorite flowers. I also knew I wanted to make a pop up box card because I like that they can serve double duty as a card and decoration. Believe it or not, out of all of the Cricut cartridges I have there was not one single tulip flower I liked so I had to create my own. I looked through images on Google of tulips to get the general shape. I noticed the shape was kind of like an egg so I decided I was going to cut 3 egg shapes and layer them and OMG...it worked! I then needed to find a stem and leaves I liked. I found that some blades of grass would work for that effect. Now I absolutely had to use purple because it is mine and my mom's favorite color. Lastly, it was about getting it all cut out and put together. I am so pleased with the way this card turned out and so was my mom.

I used these items to create my Tulip Happy Birthday Pop Up Box Card:
  • Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge - to create the tulips with the egg shape
  • Create a Critter Cricut cartridge - to create the stem and leaves with the blades of grass
  • white ink - to highlight the tulips
  • purple ink - Happy Birthday and sentiment on back of card
  • My Craft Spot - Inside & Out - Set #2 clear stamp set - for the Happy Birthday and sentiment on back of card
  • Stampin' Up! 4 rhinestones - on front of card
  • Mart
  • 2 shades of purple cardstock
  • white and green cardstock
  • 2 different pattern papers
  • Martha Stewart corner punch - Deco fan
Here are some close ups of the flowers and the back of the card:

PARTY Scull Man ATC

I finally had a little time to create yesterday and this is what I did. This is the Scull Man from Rick St. Dennis. A while back he use to offer a free digital images to use for his challenges but because of some people abusing the use of the images he had to stop offering the free images. I was lucky enough to have been able to grab this guy when it was still offered. So I created a little ATC with the Scull Man digital image. I just added the clear PARTY stamp, colored the image with an orange pen and a black Sharpie marker. I attached the image with some foam squares and added a small scull sticker to the bottom of the ATC.

I am entering my ATC in the following challenge:
I hope you liked my ATC.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my PARTY Scull Man ATC.
