Here's my Project:

My ex got a motorcycle a year or so ago. His birthday was this past Saturday so I made him this birthday card that looks very similar to his motorcycle. I know it doesn't quite represent a vacation but it could in the future.

I used these items to create my motorcycle card:
  • Father's Day Cricut cartridge - motorcycle
  • George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge - rectangle for sentiment
  • Black, white and red cardstock
  • 2 types of foil paper
  • brads
  • Glossy Accents
  • Black ink

Cheers!

This week my daughters dad had a birthday and I created this shape card for him. I originally wanted to make the beer part of this card a dark beer but I wasn't happy with any of the color choices of cardstock I had. I did have this fabulous Gold cardstock from Recollections, so I went with that. I used a very pale grey cardstock for the mug and a vanilla cardstock for the beer foam.

I used 2 appropriate clear stamp sentiments inside and of course we all signed it. My youngest daughter just entered Kindergarten and is learning to write her name, I think she did very well.

The above picture is the back side of the card...I thought it would it a more realistic look. Oh and the other thing I did to the original image was use the flip feature on my Cricut Expression because he's left handed.

Just to give the card a little dimension I used an embossing folder on the beer foam and added adhesive foam mounts to the back.

I used these items to create my Cheers! card:
  • Everyday Pop-Up cards Cricut cartridge - beer mug and CHEERS!
  • Gold, grey and vanilla cardstock
  • Cardz TV Stamps "Good Times" - Here's to You!
  • My Craft Spot - Inside & Out - Set #2 stamp set - Happy Birthday
  • Cricut embossing folder - Tiny Bubbles - on the beer foam

This is my 1st post as a Design Team Member for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.
I am super excited to share with you my creation using the provided sketch.

I used the provided sketch to create a birthday card for my best friend. She recently adopted a couple of Chihuahuas. I personally have 2 Chihuahuas myself and even talked my mom into adopting a Chihuahua last year. So my best friends Chihuahuas all have the same black and tan coloring so I designed this little Chihuahua to look like the ones she has. I know she will love this card when I send it out to her for her birthday.

I made a modification to the Chihuahua cut from the Cricut Lite cartridge Four Legged Friends...I cut off the heart and replaced it with a party blow-out from the Celebrations Cricut cartridge and added a party hat from the same cartridge. I also used black brads for the eyes instead of the ones from the cut. I then cut out the tag from the Cricut Lite cartridge Four Legged Friends and stamped it with "Party Animal" from the CardzTV clear stamps set "Good Times." Lastly, I applied red glitter glue from Studio G to the tag, hat and collar.

So before assembling the card I decided to emboss the Kraft cardstock with Fiskars texture plate PAWS and I just love the way it looks. I finished it off with a paw clear stamp (I believe from Studio G) going up the edge. Then I just assembled the card like the sketch but I did put some foam mounts from Stampin' Up behind the tag and the Chihuahua.

The inside of the card I kept very simple. I added a strip of the same dog bone paper from the front to the inside and stamped it with "Happy Birthday to You!" also from the CardzTV clear stamps set "Good Times."

I used these items to create my card:
  • Cricut Lite cartridge Four Legged Friends - Chihuahua and tag
  • Celebrations Cricut cartridge - party hat and party blow-out
  • Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge - Kraft cardstock
  • Fiskars texture plate PAWS - Kraft cardstock
  • paw clear stamp - Kraft cardstock
  • black eyelet - tag
  • black brads - eyes
  • CardzTV clear stamps set "Good Times." - outside and inside sentiments
  • Studio G red glitter glue - on tag, party hat and party blow-out
  • Stampin' Up foam mounts from - behind tag and Chihuahua

Let the Good Times Roll Pop-Up Box card

Today my oldest daughter was invited to a friend's 13th birthday party which was a bowling party, so I of course had to make a bowling theme card. I decided to make a Pop-Up Box card because I thought that particular design would allow me to create a sort-of bowling alley. I think I pulled it off.

In this picture, look at the bowling ball, I used a piece of cardstock from the DCWV Metallic Glitter Cardstock Stack. The ball is shiny and glittery, just like a real bowling ball.

I put 13 on both sides because my daughter's friend is turning 13.

The back I kept simple and to be perfectly honest I was running out of time. I would have liked to put another bowling pin and ball back there but I just didn't have enough time.

I used these items to create my Let the Good Times Roll Pop-Up Box card:
  • Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge (1st time I used it) - bowling pins and ball
  • Alphalicious Cricut cartridge - "Lucky"
  • Designer Calendar Cricut cartridge - 13
  • CardzTV "Good Times" clear stamp set - sentiments
  • DCWV Metallic Glitter Cardstock Stack - bowling ball

It was a little rushed and last minute but I got it done and I love it. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Let the Good Times Roll Pop-Up Box card.

Here's to You! 21st Birthday card

It is so hard to believe that my niece is going to be 21 years old. I remember the day I got the call from my brother telling me she was born. A lot has happened in those 21 years. All I can do is hope and pray that her life is filled with many blessings and she continues to become more of the wonderful woman she already is.

So I created this fun 21st birthday card. I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Wild Card Cricut cartridge simply for the champagne bottle card. I was though very intimidated by this cartridge, manly because I just didn't understand how to figure out the size. I did a little research on pinterest and found great tutorials and then I just jumped right in and this is what I came up with.

I created the look of the champagne exploding by using rhinestones

I gave this piece some dimension with some foam squares

Here I cut and layered 6 pieces of kraft cardstock and 1 piece of cork pattern paper to make this look like a realistic cork.

This is what I did with the inside. I put some repositionable glue on the back of the bottle so when it is closed it will actually stay closed.

I used these items to create my Here's to You! 21st Birthday card:
  • Wild Card Cricut cartridge - champagne bottle card cut and all coordinating cuts @ 6 inches
  • Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge - 21
  • Glossy Accents - on the bottle
  • Stampin' Up rhinestones - to appear as the champagne exploding from the bottle
  •  Cardztv Stamps - "Good Times" stamp set - on the bottle and the inside
  • Foam squares - behind the 21

I am so please with the way this card turned out and I am finally not intimidated by the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Here's to You! 21st Birthday card

Minnie Mouse 4th Birthday Shape card

Today a very special girl turned 4 years old and yesterday she had a Minnie Mouse party so I, of course, had to create a Minnie Mouse card. I decided to make the #4 into a shape card and add on this adorable Minnie dressed in pretty pink and white polka-dots. I also used some brand spankin' new clear stamps called "Good Times" from CardzTV, which I won from a challenge I participated in. I used the simple sentiment "Happy Birthday" on front and "May all your birthday wishes come true" on the inside of the card. I added a little shine and dimension to Minnie shoes by applying some glossy accent to them. I also added some dimensional foam to the back of Minnie before adding her to the front of the 4, to make her pop a little bit.

I used these items to create my Minnie Mouse 4th Birthday Shape card:
  • Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge - 4
  • Mickey and Friends Disney Cricut cartridge - Minnie
  • CardzTV "Good Times" clear stamp set - sentiment on front and on inside card
  • Glossy Accents - on Minnie's shoes
