Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 254 - Anything Goes

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday

Challenge #254 Anything Goes

This Weeks Sponsor

Winner will receive a $25.00 Gift Certificate to Verve Stamps

For my Anything Goes project I created a
coordinating scrapbook layout and card for my
Mom's 72nd birthday...and yes the photo is of my mom
when she was only 20 months old.

This is the first time I created a layout, or anything for that matter, vintage and/or shabby chic...it was way out of my comfort zone. I felt that this type of layout is what the picture needed so I had to try it...I think I did ok.

Here I created a little hidden journaling tag.

Once the layout was finished I knew I wanted to create a coordinating card.
Thankfully I had enough paper in the DCWV The French Country Stack to do so.

I used these items to create my Once Upon a Time coordinating scrapbook layout and card:
  • DCWV The French Country Stack - paper
  • Storybook Cricut cartridge - Once Upon a Time on layout
  • Fabulous Finds Cricut cartridge - hidden tag on layout
  • Ultimate Creative Series Sampler Cricut cartridge - butterfly, bird and cage
  • misc. paper flowers
  • Lace doily - from my stash
  • ribbon - from my stash
  • misc, chipboard - Sweet on layout
  • My Craft Spot (sorry closed) - Inside & Out - Set #2 clear stamps - Happy Birthday on card
  • My Craft Spot (sorry closed) - Jar Full of Flowers clear stamps - butterfly stamp on card
  • White Enamel Accents - on card
I am entering my Once Upon a Time coordinating scrapbook layout and card in the following challenges:

Another Breast Cancer Awareness Thank You card

So here is the other Breast Cancer Awareness Thank You card I made for one of my nurses who cared for me over the last 5 months during my chemo treatments. My design was inspired by the challenge over at Mojo Monday (see the sketch below). You can see the other BCA Thank You card HERE.

I tried to get a picture of this circle to show off the stickle I used around the edge of the circle and on the dots but unfortunately it didn't catch the light very well.

Here is the very simple inside...I left it this way so I could leave my own personal thank you.

I used these items to create this BCA Thank You card (ALL of which I had on hand):
  • Design Studio
  • George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge - circles
  • Ultimate Creative Series Cricut cartridge - Awareness Ribbon
  • White heart shape brade - on the awareness ribbon
  • ribbon - on the front and inside of card
  • Swiss dots embossing folder - on the pink circle
  • Stickles - on the pink circle
  • Misc. clear "Thank You" stamp - on the pink circle
  • Stickabilites Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon sticker - on the inside

Breast Cancer Awareness Thank You Easel card

Well, yesterday was my last day for chemo, treating me for breast cancer. Making paper crafts of all sorts was just one of the things I would do during these treatments to pass the time. Plus, it really was the only time I could have peace and quiet to do my crafts. So since this was my last treatment I wanted to make Thank You cards for the 2 nurses who have been there helping me through it over the last 5 months, and this is one of them.

I wrote my own personal thank you on the underside. It is bittersweet to know I won't be going back but to only get my port flushed every six weeks until it is removed and any appointments that I may have to go to see the doctor. These nurses are fabulous and I just wanted to let them know they are appreciated!

I used these items to create my BCA Thank You easel card (ALL of which are products I had on hand):
  • Design Studio - weld the "THANK YOU"
  • Ultimate Creative Series Cricut cartridge - Awareness Ribbon
  • Street Signs Solutions Crciut cartridge - "THANK YOU"
  • White heart brads
  • White gel pen - "THANK YOU"

End of the Year Pillow Boxes

I had such a blast creating these little pillow boxes for my oldest daughter's 4th grade class.  The colors I choose are purple and yellow which are the school's colors.  The comet also represents the school, they are known as "The home of the Comets."

So I had never made a pillow box so I did a little research on the internet about what size I should cut them with my Cricut.  The one person that I watched cut her pillow boxes at 5 inches, I decided to cut mine at 5 5/8 inches.  I found out at this size I could cut 4 boxes out of 1 12 x 12 piece of cardstock and it also allowed me to fill the boxes with 4 SMARTIES candies.  This only shows half of what I made.  I had to make 28 of these little darlings.

I designed the boxes using my Design Studio, the Wrap it Up Cricut cartridge and the Ultimate Creative Series Sampler Cricut cartridge.  I couldn't find just a plain pillow box on the Wrap it Up Cricut cartridge so I used the one with the diploma on it, hid the contours and inserted the shooting star from the Ultimate Creative Series Sampler Cricut cartridge.  I cut the inside out from yellow cardstock and then once the box was assembled I stickled it.

On the back I used a clear stamp I got from the Michael's dollar bin.
