Let the Good Times Roll Pop-Up Box card

Today my oldest daughter was invited to a friend's 13th birthday party which was a bowling party, so I of course had to make a bowling theme card. I decided to make a Pop-Up Box card because I thought that particular design would allow me to create a sort-of bowling alley. I think I pulled it off.

In this picture, look at the bowling ball, I used a piece of cardstock from the DCWV Metallic Glitter Cardstock Stack. The ball is shiny and glittery, just like a real bowling ball.

I put 13 on both sides because my daughter's friend is turning 13.

The back I kept simple and to be perfectly honest I was running out of time. I would have liked to put another bowling pin and ball back there but I just didn't have enough time.

I used these items to create my Let the Good Times Roll Pop-Up Box card:
  • Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge (1st time I used it) - bowling pins and ball
  • Alphalicious Cricut cartridge - "Lucky"
  • Designer Calendar Cricut cartridge - 13
  • CardzTV "Good Times" clear stamp set - sentiments
  • DCWV Metallic Glitter Cardstock Stack - bowling ball
I am entering my Pop-Up Box card in the following challenges:

It was a little rushed and last minute but I got it done and I love it. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Let the Good Times Roll Pop-Up Box card.

Wanna see something really scary?

I give you tonight a very unusual card. I'm hoping that you can figure out where my inspiration came from. If you were a lover of sci-fi movies from the 80's you probably know what it is. If you weren't, then I feel sorry for you.

The movie is Twilight Zone:  The Movie (1983) and the last line in the movie is,"Wanna see something really scary?" by the very funny and famous Dan Aykroyd. The look on the other very famous actor, John Lithgow, is priceless!

A little background:

Four directors collaborated to remake four episodes of the popular television series 'The Twilight Zone' for this movie. The episodes are updated slightly and in color (the television show was in black-and-white), but very true to the originals, where eerie and disturbing situations gradually spin out of control.

I was only 8 years old when this film came out but I loved all things horror and sci-fi as a child and still do.

For more information go HERE!

This is not your typical card...it doesn't really open, just the door on the front opens to reveal a surprise inside...a mirror.

I thought it was appropriate to make this a birthday card...a funny ha ha Happy Birthday card!

I used these items to create this card:
  • Design Studio
  • George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge - the card shape and rectangle cut for the mirror
  • Wild Card Cricut cartridge - the door
  • computer generated title
  • button - door knob
  • Martha Stewart glitter - around the opening of the door
  • plastic mirror sheet

I am entering this card in the following linky party and challenges:
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my birthday card, I hope you liked it and that I see you around my blog again!

Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone is starting the new year off to a good start! I'm happy to be giving you a look at my first project of the New Year! I created a couple of New Year's party hats to help ring in the new year with my girls!

Here's is my youngest daughter wearing her hat proudly!

And here is my oldest daughter, looking a little bit tired just before midnight, wearing her hat.

Now since my youngest daughter went to sleep I borrowed her hat to wear, with my oldest daughter, while the New Year's Eve ball dropped!

I used these items to make my hats:
  • Life's a Party Cricut cartridge - hats
  • Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge - "Happy New Year" and "2013"
  • feathers (stash)
  • ribbon (stash)
  • Martha Stewart glitter (I've had for over a year)
  • DCWV the Glitter cardstock stack (I've had for probably 2 years) - hats
  •
