This is my 1st post as a Design Team Member for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.
I am super excited to share with you my creation using the provided sketch.

I used the provided sketch to create a birthday card for my best friend. She recently adopted a couple of Chihuahuas. I personally have 2 Chihuahuas myself and even talked my mom into adopting a Chihuahua last year. So my best friends Chihuahuas all have the same black and tan coloring so I designed this little Chihuahua to look like the ones she has. I know she will love this card when I send it out to her for her birthday.

I made a modification to the Chihuahua cut from the Cricut Lite cartridge Four Legged Friends...I cut off the heart and replaced it with a party blow-out from the Celebrations Cricut cartridge and added a party hat from the same cartridge. I also used black brads for the eyes instead of the ones from the cut. I then cut out the tag from the Cricut Lite cartridge Four Legged Friends and stamped it with "Party Animal" from the CardzTV clear stamps set "Good Times." Lastly, I applied red glitter glue from Studio G to the tag, hat and collar.

So before assembling the card I decided to emboss the Kraft cardstock with Fiskars texture plate PAWS and I just love the way it looks. I finished it off with a paw clear stamp (I believe from Studio G) going up the edge. Then I just assembled the card like the sketch but I did put some foam mounts from Stampin' Up behind the tag and the Chihuahua.

The inside of the card I kept very simple. I added a strip of the same dog bone paper from the front to the inside and stamped it with "Happy Birthday to You!" also from the CardzTV clear stamps set "Good Times."

I used these items to create my card:
  • Cricut Lite cartridge Four Legged Friends - Chihuahua and tag
  • Celebrations Cricut cartridge - party hat and party blow-out
  • Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge - Kraft cardstock
  • Fiskars texture plate PAWS - Kraft cardstock
  • paw clear stamp - Kraft cardstock
  • black eyelet - tag
  • black brads - eyes
  • CardzTV clear stamps set "Good Times." - outside and inside sentiments
  • Studio G red glitter glue - on tag, party hat and party blow-out
  • Stampin' Up foam mounts from - behind tag and Chihuahua

Today I give you my Rainbow Birthday card. A friend of mine's daughter is turning 2 this weekend and she had requested that I do a card for her like I had done for her son when he was born (SEEN HERE). Also she wanted me to incorporate her daughter's new toddler bedding SEEN HERE! Wicked Best Witches - Happy Halloween card

Happy September 1st!!!  Another day closer to getting cooler.  It has been HELL on earth here in the desert and I will be so glad to get into Fall.  I did a little something different with this card...I used some stickers.  I can't even tell you the last time I used stickers for a project.  I came across these particular Halloween stickers in my stash and thought they'd be perfect to add that little extra something and that is exactly what they did.

I am entering this card in multiple challenges this week:
Bitten By the Bug2 required you to make a new project using your Cricut and a stamp with a fall theme
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday 75 required you to add the colour yellow to your Cricut project
Wacky Wednesday 49 - Halloween at More than Favors - required your project to be Halloween theme
Cricut Cardz Challenge 90 required you to make a card using the card feature from any cartridge, use any colors and for any occassion
Paper Cutz Challenge 106 required you to make a card, layout or project using stars for any occassion and colors

I created this card in the Design Studio.

I used these Cricut cartridges:
Celebrations for the card base and inside of the card
Happy Hauntings for the witch (which I welded into the circle opening of the card) and the grave stone scene
Paper Doll Dress Up for the tree

I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the tree just to give it some texture.  I also inked the edges and some of the front of the tree.

I inked the grave stones with white, black and some green to give them a more realistic feel.

I added the stickers and stamped Happy Halloween on the front

On the inside I used a stamp from Bug Bites and some more stickers

I had so much fun creating this card and I think I might just be using some more stickers in the future!

Teacher Appreciation Basket

I made this basket for my daughter's 3rd grade teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day.

I got the basket from Michael's for only $3.50, added some ribbon I already had, placed some craft foam in the bottom, covered it with some leftover Easter grass, put in some Granny Smith and Pink Lady apples, and last made the sticks.

I used these Cricut cartridges:
George and Basic Shapes for the star cut @ 3
Cricut Sampler for the Thanks cut @ 3
A Child's Year for the 2 apples cut @ 3
Doodlecharms for the watermelon cut @ 3
Locker Talk for the A+ cut @ 1 3/4
Graphically Speaking for the chalkboard cut @ 3 1/2
Celebrations for the banner cut @ 4
Wild Card for the #1 Teacher cut @ 6
Alphalicious for the You're the Best cut @ 2

Too many carts I know but I think the end product turned out pretty good.  I learned from doing this project that in the future to use less carts.  Using this many carts was very time consuming!

Here's the Basket and the card together!
