My name is Carol from Carol's Creations. I am a new Design Team Member. I am a mom of to 2 earthly angels and 2 heavenly angels. I love animals but cats are my favorite. I love all kinds of crafting but since I got my Cricut in 2008 I have become obsessed with paper crafting! I now have 4 Cricuts including the Cricut Cake, plus the Gypsy. I create cards, scrapbook layouts, tags, ATC's, 3-D paper crafts and who knows what else. ***Non-paper craft related *** I am also a HUGE fan of Halloween. I have made some costumes, a countdown calendar, multiple wreaths, and some disturbing baby doll alterations for Halloween props. I am always thinking about the next Halloween and planning the next project. Feel free to browse through my blog to see what I have created over the years. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about me and what I love.

A character can be -- a number, a letter, a persons personality, etc., so I am showcasing what my interpretation of a what a character is...

Here is my inspiration for you:

I chose to do a Mickey Mouse birthday card, which I plan on sending out to my Uncle because his birthday is this week. I chose to do Mickey Mouse because who doesn't love the mouse. I think the pose that Mickey is doing here expresses great excitement and is perfect for celebrating a birthday. This is also my first time trying to create the center step card. I followed a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers and it was super easy!!! Once you cut and create your folds everything else is just about decorating it. I think Mickey looks as is he is going to just jump right off the card. I am super excited about how this card turned out and I hope you are too.

I used these items to create my Mickey Mouse (center step) Birthday card:
  • Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge - Mickey and hands
  • Disney Mickey Paper Pad
  • Cardz TV Stamps - "Good Times" - sentiment inside and out
  • foam squares - behind Mickey
Now that you have seen my character go to Michelle-------  http://justanutterpapercrafter.blogspot.com/

Minnie Mouse 4th Birthday Shape card

Today a very special girl turned 4 years old and yesterday she had a Minnie Mouse party so I, of course, had to create a Minnie Mouse card. I decided to make the #4 into a shape card and add on this adorable Minnie dressed in pretty pink and white polka-dots. I also used some brand spankin' new clear stamps called "Good Times" from CardzTV, which I won from a challenge I participated in. I used the simple sentiment "Happy Birthday" on front and "May all your birthday wishes come true" on the inside of the card. I added a little shine and dimension to Minnie shoes by applying some glossy accent to them. I also added some dimensional foam to the back of Minnie before adding her to the front of the 4, to make her pop a little bit.

I used these items to create my Minnie Mouse 4th Birthday Shape card:
  • Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge - 4
  • Mickey and Friends Disney Cricut cartridge - Minnie
  • CardzTV "Good Times" clear stamp set - sentiment on front and on inside card
  • Glossy Accents - on Minnie's shoes
I am entering my card in the following challenges:
I am super excited how this card turned out and I hope you like it too! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Minnie Mouse 4th Birthday Shape card.

Jaidyn's Disney Memories/Autograph Book

We are taking our very 1st vacation as a family this October to the "happiest place on Earth"...Disneyland!!!  Many years of personal hardship have not allowed us to take any vacations.  I had already planned on making a memory/autograph book this summer but when I saw that Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge was "All About Disney" I just had to get a jump start on it.  I've been working on this for a couple of days now and am so pleased about how things are coming along so far.

I used a (2 bag) Cap'n Crunch Berries box to make the front and back parts of the book.  I cut 4 pieces of the box at 6 1/2 X 10 1/2 inches.  I attached 2 pieces together to make them more sturdy.  Then I just covered them.  Then I added a ribbon to the front.  I used Disney Mickey Font and Disney Mickey and Friends for the front cover.  I used Martha Stewart glitter on the letters and Glossy Accents on the heart and Minnie.  I then began constructing the inside pages.  Each page measures 6 X 10 1/4 and  has a 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 piece of cardstock to place a picture and an autograph in it.  As I get more Disney Cricut cartridges, I will be using my Cricut to cut coordinating Disney characters for each page.  I used ribbon to close the book.  I purposely did not finish this project for the simple fact that I know I will have to make more pages for other characters after we have gone on the vacation.

Here are the inside pages so far:

I will be creating more as I said earlier, this is just the beginning!

Besides the Getting Cricky challenge, I am also entering this project in the following challenges:
