HOWL Happy Birthday - Twilight inspired birthday card

So my oldest daughter is turning 11 next week and the theme for her party is from the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn part 1, plus she loves Taylor Lautner aka Jacob Black. And just a couple of weeks ago she handed out Twilight - Eclipse Valentines in school. I purposely bought 2 packages @ .99 each from Party City because I knew there wouldn't be enough boy appropriate valentines in 1 package, plus it came with stickers that I knew I would be able to use for other projects. That brings us here to my card.

I used these items (all on hand) to create my HOWL Happy Birthday card:
  • A Frightful Affair Cricut cartridge - HOWL
  • Fabulous Finds Cricut cartridge - heart luggage tag
  • DCWV Immortal Love - paper
  • Black and red cardstock
  • Repurposed unused extra Valentine - Taylor Lautner aka Jacob Black
  • Jacob heart stickers - on heart luggage tag and on the inside of card
  • ribbon
  • Red stickle - claw marks in the HOWL
  • Glossy Accents - HOWL
  • My Craft Spot clear stamps - Inside & Out - set 2 - Happy Birthday (front) and sentinment (inside)
  • Black ink
  • Black brad - heart luggage tag
  • Pop dots - under Jacob, HOWL and heart luggage tag
Here you can see how everything is popped up with pop dots:

Matthew - New Arrival via Airplane card

Today I bring to you a very special card for the arrival of Matthew to a very special couple.  In just a couple more weeks the arrival of Matthew is planned via a scheduled C-section.  Matthew's parents have been friends with my mom for many many years and I have become close friends with Matthew's mom over the last couple of years.

I chose to use the airplane from the New Arrival Cricut cartridge because I know that Matthew's room is decorated in planes, trains, and automobiles.  I also tried to best match the color scheme as well.

I used these items to create this card:
  • Design Studio
  • New Arrival Cricut cartridge - plane, banner and clouds
  • Plantin Schoolbook - Matthew on banner
  • foam squares - on plane, banner and clouds
  • Glossy Accents - on the windows of the plane
  • Brad - on the propeller
  • floss - between the plane and banner
  • brown ink - on the edge of the banner
  • My Craft Spot - clear stamps - Inside and Out Set #2 - sentiment inside card, "A baby is a gift from Heaven above...bringing joy down to earth filling hearts full of love."

    Candy Witch card

I know, I know, a Halloween card?  Yes, a Halloween card!  If I haven't said it before I'll say it now, Halloween is my favorite holiday!!!  I love making cards, crafts, decorations, absolutely anything for Halloween.  I believe this is my 2nd card already this year for Halloween.  I was inspired by the challenge over at Dilly Beans.

I used these items to create this card:
    • Dilly Beans digital stamp
    • Sharpie markers
    • Stickles
    • Martha Stewart punch
    • misc. Halloween stickers
    • Glossy Accents - on all the candy parts and the "inside" parts of the easel card
    • silver star brad
Here is a close up of all the stickling  and glossy accent:

Here is a closer look at the "inside" part of the easel card:

There's No Time Like SNOW Time!

I created this card originally for a challenge but by the time I got to link it it was already closed :(  Oh well, I am though very happy with the way it turned out.  The challenge required you to make a card using a snowman and it had to include a border, something metal, and be monochromatic.  No matter, because a couple of new challenges are available:
I used these items to create this card:
    • Design Studio
    • Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge - for the snowman
    • Martha Stewart punch set
    • Cuttlebug
    • D'vine Swirls embossing folder
    • white sheer ribbon
    • iridescent snowflake - on the ribbon
    • snowflake brad - on the snowman
    • Studio G iridescent glitter glue
    • frosted lace Stickles
    • (inside) - stamp from BugBites - All Year Round stamps

I'm not sure if you can see it but I used the iridescent glitter glue on the hat and scarf of the snowman and the frosted lace Stickles just around his body and eyes.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little simple card and I look forward to sharing more projects in the future.

Frightfully Delightful - Queen of the Damned *** WARNING *** This is a little twisted!

I created this card for HDH102 Queen of the Damned challenge, which requires a focus on royalty, crowns, and/or thrones and with a little creeptastic touch, over at Haunted Design House I made everything in Design Studio.  I used these Cricut cartridges:  Storybook for the swirly corners and the sign, Birthday Cakes for the queen, and Paper Doll Dress Up for the head and sword.  I used a stamp from BugBites - All Year Round stamp set  and some gem brads for the sign.  I used Martha Stewart glitter on the crown and just some craft paint for the blood.  I am so pleased with the way this turned out...totally what I was going for.  I know this kind of stuff isn't for everyone but this is just another side of me and with Halloween lurking around the corner I just couldn't resist being a little twisted for a change!

    Here is the full-size 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 card...I hope you like it!
And a little bit more up close and personal with our queen.

Thanks for looking and I hope this doesn't make you think any differently of me!

    Western Boot card

Howdy there gals!  Just wanted to share my latest creation.  I am entering this western boot card in the Cricut 360 Challenge #7 Old West.
I created this entire card in Design Studio, using only "Just Because" Cards Cricut cartridge.  I added star brads for some additional flare.

I added the phrase "Just Kickin' Back" to the inside and some doodling around the edge.

    Thanks for looking!

    Hey Pumpkin Pie card

Well, I'm kinda bummed...I originally was going to enter this card in Bitten By the Bug Pie Challenge-Paper Dolls Dress Up but I missed it so I have decided to enter it in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #73 - Piece of Cake! Create a project with a cupcake (or another baked good) .

Here are the details about this card:

I used Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge for the pie cut 3 times at 1 3/4 Real Dial size and then hand cut the pieces to make a pumpkin pie.
I used A Child's Year Cricut cartridge for the pumpkin cut at 2 1/2
I inked all the edges with Color Box inkpad
I stamped the pumpkin with a stamp I found in the dollar bin at Michael's.  I drew in the lines on the pumpkin, colored in the lettering with a LePlum maker, and stickled the small pumpkin
I used brads and twine for some decorative touches.

On the inside I used a stamp from My Craft Spot
    Thanks for looking!!!
