Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 254 - Anything Goes

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday

Challenge #254 Anything Goes

This Weeks Sponsor

Winner will receive a $25.00 Gift Certificate to Verve Stamps

For my Anything Goes project I created a
coordinating scrapbook layout and card for my
Mom's 72nd birthday...and yes the photo is of my mom
when she was only 20 months old.

This is the first time I created a layout, or anything for that matter, vintage and/or shabby chic...it was way out of my comfort zone. I felt that this type of layout is what the picture needed so I had to try it...I think I did ok.

Here I created a little hidden journaling tag.

Once the layout was finished I knew I wanted to create a coordinating card.
Thankfully I had enough paper in the DCWV The French Country Stack to do so.

I used these items to create my Once Upon a Time coordinating scrapbook layout and card:
  • DCWV The French Country Stack - paper
  • Storybook Cricut cartridge - Once Upon a Time on layout
  • Fabulous Finds Cricut cartridge - hidden tag on layout
  • Ultimate Creative Series Sampler Cricut cartridge - butterfly, bird and cage
  • misc. paper flowers
  • Lace doily - from my stash
  • ribbon - from my stash
  • misc, chipboard - Sweet on layout
  • My Craft Spot (sorry closed) - Inside & Out - Set #2 clear stamps - Happy Birthday on card
  • My Craft Spot (sorry closed) - Jar Full of Flowers clear stamps - butterfly stamp on card
  • White Enamel Accents - on card
I am entering my Once Upon a Time coordinating scrapbook layout and card in the following challenges:
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my Once Upon a Time coordinating scrapbook layout and card. Please head over to Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blogspot and enter your own Anything Goes Cricut project.

Haunted Design House Guest Designer - June-bugs, Gems and Gewgaws

This week I was asked to spend a little time in the dungeon over at Haunted Design House
and to be a Guest Designer.

This month's theme is
June-bugs, Gems and Gewgaws.
So we were to feature insects/bugs (moths, spiders and creep-crawlies are also ok), OR gems and jewels, OR gewgaws in your creation this month. (A gewgaw is something showy and flamboyant that has little or no intrinsic value but serves a decorative purpose.) And as always, remember to keep it creepy, dark or macabre.

I think I accomplished this in my creation of my Red Beaded Spider.

I used these items to create my Red Beaded Spider:

24 gauge wire
bugle beads
seed beads
1 oval  bead, about 1" long

In this picture you can see that this is no teeny tiny spider...it is actually just as a big as my hand, even bigger if all of the legs were straight.

I think this is the perfect spot for my Red Beaded Spider to spend her nights...
sitting amongst some of my other
creepy creations.

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my Red Beaded Spider. Now I ask you to join us for the challenge over at Haunted Design House and create your own
June-bugs, Gems and Gewgaws.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #253 - Celebrate Dad

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #253 - Celebrate Dad-create a card or project for Dad

This Weeks Sponsor
digiplayground.com

There will be 3 winners of $7 gift certificates!

Create a project inspired by Father's Day

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

So for my project I created the Shirt Box from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 Cricut cartridge. Since my father has passed and I have not had a living Grandfather since I was very young, I decided that this little box was going to go to my daughters father.

He is huge fan of chocolate so I filled it with all of these little chocolates.

Creating this box was very easy...the hardest part was finding the right paper to use. Once I found the right paper it was all just about cutting it and putting it together...super easy!!!

I used these items to create my shirt box:
  • DCWV All About Boys Stack - shirt paper
  • brown cardstock - tie
  • Dad clear stamp
  • Brown ink
I am entering my Dad Shirt Box in the following challenges:

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my Dad Shirt Box for Father's Day.

My name is Carol from Carol's Creations. I am a new Design Team Member. I am a mom of to 2 earthly angels and 2 heavenly angels. I love animals but cats are my favorite. I love all kinds of crafting but since I got my Cricut in 2008 I have become obsessed with paper crafting! I now have 4 Cricuts including the Cricut Cake, plus the Gypsy. I create cards, scrapbook layouts, tags, ATC's, 3-D paper crafts and who knows what else. ***Non-paper craft related *** I am also a HUGE fan of Halloween. I have made some costumes, a countdown calendar, multiple wreaths, and some disturbing baby doll alterations for Halloween props. I am always thinking about the next Halloween and planning the next project. Feel free to browse through my blog to see what I have created over the years. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about me and what I love.

A character can be -- a number, a letter, a persons personality, etc., so I am showcasing what my interpretation of a what a character is...

Here is my inspiration for you:

I chose to do a Mickey Mouse birthday card, which I plan on sending out to my Uncle because his birthday is this week. I chose to do Mickey Mouse because who doesn't love the mouse. I think the pose that Mickey is doing here expresses great excitement and is perfect for celebrating a birthday. This is also my first time trying to create the center step card. I followed a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers and it was super easy!!! Once you cut and create your folds everything else is just about decorating it. I think Mickey looks as is he is going to just jump right off the card. I am super excited about how this card turned out and I hope you are too.

I used these items to create my Mickey Mouse (center step) Birthday card:
  • Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge - Mickey and hands
  • Disney Mickey Paper Pad
  • Cardz TV Stamps - "Good Times" - sentiment inside and out
  • foam squares - behind Mickey
Now that you have seen my character go to Michelle-------  http://justanutterpapercrafter.blogspot.com/
and check out her amazing creativity. There is a list of all the designers on the blog hop below.

Happy Hopping!!!!
