Now Introducing Bat Boy ATC

So just a quick little ATC I did today for a couple of challenges.  This is my Bat Boy from Dilly Beans - Winged Monster.  This is the 1st time I used colored pencils and I'm not really sure if I like it or not (the wings maybe ok).  I used a computer generated font for the title.  I wanted the ATC to look like a poster board for a Circus/Freakshow.  Well that is pretty much it...he is cute no matter what!

Cricut® Pink Journey Solutions™ Cartridge IN STOCK

For those of you who are and will be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month in October here is your chance to get a hold of the very elusive Cricut Pink Journey Solutions Cartridge.  Ever since I was diagnosed with my own breast cancer on June 29, 2012 I have been trying to get involved more and finding this cartridge was nearly impossible for under $60.00.  So today just by chance I was looking through Cricut Machine.com and they had it for $24.99 so I thought maybe Cricut.com would have it again too and sure enough they did and it was cheaper for only $19.99 plus shipping.  So I snagged mine...you should too while they last, who knows for how much longer they will be available at all.

BTW...I am not a representative of either Cricut Machine.com or Cricut.com, just your average everyday consumer excited to share my findings in hopes that it might help someone else.

Im Melting

Today I bring to a card I had to make twice...unfortunately while my 1st one was drying with the glossy accent my mom placed something on of it not realizing it was even there...it was ruined!  I freaked out needless to say.  So this is my 2nd card.

I was inspired to create this card based on the challenge over at Haunted Design House - Macabre Monday - HDH #151 - I'm Melting.  I, of course, had to turn to my favorite witch of all time from my favorite movie of all time...The Wicked Witch of the East from The Wizard of Oz.

I used these items to create this card:
  • The Wizard of Oz Paper Pad
  • Black cardstock
  • Martha Stewart goo edge Punch
  • Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge - Font
  • Glossy Accent - on the goo, the font and the bottom of the witch
  • Misc. clear Halloween stamp

Matthew - New Arrival via Airplane card

Today I bring to you a very special card for the arrival of Matthew to a very special couple.  In just a couple more weeks the arrival of Matthew is planned via a scheduled C-section.  Matthew's parents have been friends with my mom for many many years and I have become close friends with Matthew's mom over the last couple of years.

I chose to use the airplane from the New Arrival Cricut cartridge because I know that Matthew's room is decorated in planes, trains, and automobiles.  I also tried to best match the color scheme as well.

I used these items to create this card:
  • Design Studio
  • New Arrival Cricut cartridge - plane, banner and clouds
  • Plantin Schoolbook - Matthew on banner
  • foam squares - on plane, banner and clouds
  • Glossy Accents - on the windows of the plane
  • Brad - on the propeller
  • floss - between the plane and banner
  • brown ink - on the edge of the banner

    Fall Owl ATC

Today I bring you a simple Fall ATC with this adorable owl and tree limb (free) digital stamp from Paper Smooches.
I included some of these shiny Fall leaves.
I don't think you can see it in the photo but I used some foam squares on the owl to give the ATC a little dimension.

Scary Pumpkin Treat Box and Luminary

Today I bring to you a 2 in 1 - Pumpkin Treat Box and Luminary.

Here you can see it as a treat box and a pretty good size treat box too, 4 1/2 wide x 4 1/4 high.

Filled with lots of yummy chocolate treats!

Here is a view of the back.

    The sides.

I'm not sure if you can see it in the photos but I did give the pumpkin some texture and it really looks very similar to the real thing.

And now what this treat box looks like as a luminary...scary!!!!

I used these items to create my Pumpkin Treat Box and Luminary:
    • Design Studio
    • Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge - pumpkin
    • October 31st Cricut cartridge - face of the pumpkin - Using the Design Studio I hid the outer contours and just used the face and placed inside the pumpkin (so it would be cut out of the pumpkin)
    • Fiskars Texture Plate (carpet) - on the pumpkin
    • brown ink - on the edges
    • Michael's $1.00 Wooden stamp - on the back

    Spooky Skeleton ATC

Another post for today and it is this Spooky Skeleton ATC.  Ok, so it might not be spooky, maybe it's a little cute, I'll admit it.  This was so much fun to make.

Above you can see the little face is layered with some foam squares and even the pumpkin bucket the skeleton is carring is puffed up with a foam square.  I think my favorite part though is the tiny google eyes in the "O O's."

I used these items to create this ATC:
    •  Black, orange, and white cardstock
    •  Wooden stamps from Michael's $1.00 bin (I think last year)
    •  Misc. Halloween stickers
    •  Google eyes
    •  Black square brads
    •  Foam squares

    Halloween Hello Kitty Shape card

Ok so Hello Kitty is cute all on her own, but when she gets dressed up in her Halloween costume she's even cuter!  I didn't want to do the traditional black, I gave her an orange tabby stripe costume.

Here's a little closer look at her black and orange glitter bow and sucker.

I used these items to create this Halloween Hello Kitty Shape card:
    • Design Studio
    • Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge
    • Martha Stewart black glitter - bow
    • Orange Stickles - bow
    • Studio G black glitter glue - sucker
    • Glossy Accents - bow
    • Orange floss - sucker
    • Buttons
    • Stampin' Up Halloween stamp - inside

R.I.P. Halloween card (with an unexpected BONUS)

I am super excited to bring to you this Spooky Halloween card I made last night when I couldn't sleep at 2:00am.  All week long I had been pondering the idea of what I was going to make for the Macabre Monday Challenge HDH #149 - Bare Bones.  The challege requires you to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that uses NO dimensional embellishments.  No rhinestones, no pearls, no ribbon, and no chipboard.  It doesn't have to be a single layer card, just NO bumpy bits!

I started to go through my stash of stickers and found some awesome Halloween rub-ons that I've had for a couple of years now.  I bought them from Michael's during one of their after Halloween clearance sales for just .19 cents. marked down from .99 cents.  The BONUS though is I didn't even know this, but they GLOW IN THE DARK!!! Check it out below.

I used these items to create this card:
    • Black, lime green and white cardstock
    • EZ Rub Ons - skull, arm, tombstomes, moon, and bats
    • glow-in-the-dark craft paint - stars (which I painted and hand cut)
    • misc. clear Halloween stamps - inside
Here's a look at the inside of the card:

Check out my daughter Kaitlyn's Blog

I'm inviting you all to come and check out my daughter's blog at Kaitlyn's Kraft Korner.  I am so proud of her creations and I'm trying to get more people to follow her blog.  She does all of her own creations and barely needs my assistance.  When I got my Cricut Expression she inherited my Baby Bug and she does really well with it.  Her blog doesn't even begin to reflect all of the crafts she has created over the years.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to check out Kaitlyn's blog and if you decide to follow her I thank you for that, too!

    Spooky Halloween Tag

Today I bring to you a Spooky Halloween Tag.  I don't know exactly what I am going to use this for, I don't ususally give gifts for Halloween...maybe I will this year though.  I had a blast making it and that is all that matters.

Here is a look at what this tag looks like on a bottle of wine and a close up of her bow:
