Creepy Girl

So a while back I was browsing through some vintage digital stamps at Free Vintage Digital Stamps and came across this sweet little girl, then the wheels began turning.  I downloaded her for future use and today I share with you what became of that sweet little girl.

It was actually very simple...I printed the girl out on a very light piece of grey card stock in black and white.  I used a Q-tip to black out the eyes with some stamp ink.  I then found a pewter frame I had around the house and placed her in it.  Wah lah...I now have my very own creepy girl!
She will have a permanent place in my house and will be cherished forever...and I'm sure to be quite the conversation piece.

I am entering this piece in the challenge over at Haunted Design House - HDH #119 - Freakers Free For All

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my creepy girl!

Sweet Puppy Love - Valentine

I did my final Valentine (I think), this one for my oldest daughter Kaitlyn.  She is a HUGE dog lover and the color pink, so naturally I had to incorporate those elements in her Valentine.  I think the little puppy dog on the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge is just too cute so I had to use it.  In fact, I only used the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge and I've had this cartridge for who knows how long and have NEVER used it.

I used these items to create this card:
  • Design Studio
  • Sweethearts Cricut cartridge (which I've had forever and I Never used it before)
  • craft, pink, and grey card stock
  • pattern paper
  • heart brads - on the corners and used as dog tag
  • misc. chipboard (which I've had forever) - the flower and heart
  • gem - on the flower chipboard
  • Google eyes
  • brown ink - for the edges of the dog and chipboard
  • Cuttlebug
  • Swiss Dots embossing folder - for the large pink heart
Here are some close ups:

This is where I thought a little sparkle was needed:

Here you can see the grey collar and the heart brad I used to look like a dog tag!

Then the perfect phrase to go along with the Valentine:

Matchbook Valentines

Today I bring to you 28 Matchbook Valentines, which I made for my daughter's 4th grade class.

I had seen on either The Cricut MB or someone blogged about it, but they had made these adorable Matchbook Valentines and I knew I had to try them.  First I found which cartridge I had that had the matchbook cut on it, Alphalicious Cricut cartridge was it.  I brought it up on my Design Studio so I could figure out what size I needed.  I determined that I didn't actually need to use the cartridge to create this matchbook, I just needed to create the folds.  I then got out my Martha Stewart scoring board.  Using an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of cardstock, I scored the cardstock at 3/4, 1, 4 1/4, 5 and cut to a length of 8 inches and 2 3/4 inches in wideth each.  I got 4 matchbooks out of 1 piece of cardstock.  I creased all of the scored parts and then inked all the edges.  I cut strips of white cardstock, punched the edges with my Martha Stewart edge punch and inked all the edges.  I used my Advanced Tape Glider (ATG) to adhere the punched edges to the front/bottom of the matchbook.  I cut some Valentine ribbon and adhered that to the front of the punched edge.  I stamped the inside with a wooden Studio G Valentine stamp and a Recollections clear "From" stamp.  I then adhered the Sweethearts candy to the inside.

I then cut 28 hearts from Designer's Calender Cricut cartridge at 1 3/4 inches.  I applied Glossy Accents to all them.  I adhered the hearts to the front of the matchbook, leaving just a little room at the bottom for the heart to overlap the bottom of the matchbook to keep it closed.
I am so pleased with the way these turned out.  I am really loving the Glossy Accents, such a fun product to work with.

Here's all 28 ready for Valentine's Day...and I got them done way ahead of time...YAY ME!!!

If I couldn't have him, NO ONE WOULD!!!

For those of you have been following me might remember back in September I had displayed my Appalling Apothecary.  Well a piece of that apothecary was the heart of a (former) sinful boyfriend (in the jar to the right).
Today I give you a little back story how that heart got there.

My relationship with my former boyfriend was just like any other relationship, except I was in love with him but he was in love with someone else.  Once I found out about this, I felt that since I couldn't have him, NO ONE WOULD and I "took care of him!"

Here is how my memory box use to look like when were together:
Valentine's Day use to be a favorite holiday of ours until I found out that he was also planning to spend it with the other woman.  So I decided that Valentine's Day would be the perfect day for me to "take care of him!"

I found a voodoo priestess and she instructed me how to make my very own paper voodoo doll.

Then when I knew he was with her, I did it!  I then claimed the heart that belonged to me and would NEVER belong to another!

This was his hearts first resting place along side the wonderful memories we created together:

Now NO ONE will ever have his heart but ME!!!

I used these items to create my paper voodoo doll:
  • Wonderstrange arts Free digital image Voodoo Doll which I printed out on craft paper (to give it a burlap look) and altered by cutting off the candy cane
  • red Sharpie marker - for the heart
  • Silver Gloss paint marker - for the pins
  • white gel pen - for the heads of the pins
  • Glossy Accents - for the entire pin to give it a more realistic look
  • buttons - for the eyes
  • floss - for the eyes, mouth and around the heart
  • doily heart
  • ribbon
